First off WELCOME to BYC!! Glad you joined us. Second, there are so many members that threads get lost pretty quickly, making them seem to disappear. You can always post on an older thread if you want a little more input on that particular topic. If it is a random rambling thread, in other words, just chit chat then it possibly could have gone to PMs.

With over 44,000 members, stuff get's lost real quick.

You can subscribe to certain topics and continue to ask questions to keep them up and running... just an idea.

Glad you came out of the woodwork.

You've probably never read any of my posts... since I'm usually just here in the middle of the night.

Perhaps say .."in a hatching process"....the poster starts another thread under a different topic...as maybe the incubation/hatching was in one post and then after the hatch perhaps the posts came under "raising chicks" or something along that line? Yes, with the volume of members, threads do get lost within a couple minutes. You do "subscribe"?

It never hurts to reply to one of those threads with something like, "Hey, I'm really interested in how this turned out. Are there any updates?"

It is borderline "bumping" so don't do it too much, but there are some cases where people say they will update the post, but then forget about it. For example, I posted on a thread that I'd take pictures when the wife came back with the camera, but totally forgot about it.

BTW,
