I found the Safeguard equine dewormer, paste. Would any of you have an idea on the dosage for bantams and turkeys?

A "small pea" size amount of the paste given orally to bantams. I've never owned turkeys, cant help you with the dosage. A "large pea" size would be given orally to a large rooster (for size reference.)I found the Safeguard equine dewormer, paste. Would any of you have an idea on the dosage for bantams and turkeys?
Maybe casportpony will know. Turkeys and peafowl are somewhat similar in size. At least ours are.A "small pea" size amount of the paste given orally to bantams. I've never owned turkeys, cant help you with the dosage. A "large pea" size would be given orally to a large rooster (for size reference.)
Redose again in 10 days.
Quote: Yes, Casportpony owns turkeys and she'd know the dosage. She's very good figuring out measurements; kg's,mg's kt's and so on. I use Georgia math.
Okay, although I haven't used the paste (100mg/g) on poultry, I do believe that one gram is is very close to 1cc/ml. What that means is you will need to weigh your turkey and give no more than 1/2 a cc for every 2.2 pounds (1kg). This is 50mg/kg and I was told to do this by one of my avian vets. It is at the high end of the doses listed in veterinary literature, but I have used it on all types of birds (quail, turkeys, chickens, ducks, peafowl and guineas) of *all* ages and have not had any problems.Yes, Casportpony owns turkeys and she'd know the dosage. Some of my bantams weigh 300 grams, others weigh 900 grams and some of my turkeys weigh 6000 grams (6kg) and others weigh 15,000 grams (15kg). If you can't weigh then, just let me know what breed they are and I can figure out a dose for you.I found the Safeguard equine dewormer, paste. I cannot find a scale on this farm that works!!Some of my bantams weigh 300 grams, others weigh 900 grams and some of my turkeys weigh 6000 grams (6kg) and others weigh 15,000 grams (15kg). If you can't weigh then, just let me know what breed they are and I can figure out a dose for you.
Okay... So 1cc/ml of paste does weigh 1 gram
This is an empty 6cc/ml syringe and empty weighs 5 grams

This is the same 6cc syringe with 6cc's of paste. You'll notice the weight difference is 6 grams, so 6cc = 6 grams

In this picture, from left to right are 1/10cc (10mg of medicine), 1/4cc (25mg of medicine) and 1/2cc (50mg of medicine) and some peas I found at the bottom of my freezer. Please note for size reference that the tube of paste is the large 57 gram one, not the 25 gram one and that the other bottle is a liter of wormer.
