Hello, so we discovered yesterday that our elderly (15yr old) Great Pyrenees has worms. Vet believes he either got them from a tick or the neighbors free range cats. He is medicated, and hopefully will not have an allergic reaction. Is there a chance the chickens could get them too? They are fully enclosed, not free range ever. I’ve thoroughly examined their poops and found nothing. Should I worm them too just incase? Photo of their run

thanks in advance.

Depends on the type of worms. Round worms are passed among all species, including humans.

Love your run! I've incorporated repurposed doors and windows in my run, too.

The only worm that I can think of that could be passed from a cat to a dog, dog to chickens...would be hookworms or maybe tapeworms. Otherwise most worms are host specific.
@MjCampos do you know what type of worms your dog had? Please call your vet and ask.
