I am no expert on call ducks, at all, I have had mine for less than a month, but I knew the lady who had them before me, and I knew how she kept them, also.

During the ice storm, my yard flooded really badly (we had more rain than ice, here) and my female call I had went crazy over the "pond" that developed in my yard. I got the other three ducks later the next week. I only had the pair at the time - the male was not as interested in the water, but that girl duck was crazy for it. The male preferred to simply splash bathe, and not go all in like the female.

I'd say if you want some Call Ducks then go for it, they would probably swim just as much as your other ducks. Only things to consider is that if you have larger ducks also, make sure the big boys don't try to mate with your little girls. You might want to keep them seperate during breeding season.

I recently got some Blue Swedish ducklings, and when they get older I'll have to make sure the boys don't want to mate with the call duck ladies.

I kept saying I didn't want ducks - until I saw these Calls in person - they are so adorable!!

peace -
meri
