Can you feed chickens banana peels???

Our chickens love banana peels. They'll run around with a big piece in their mouths. It is a good idea to tear the peel into smaller pieces though, it's easier for them to eat it that way.

Ok well I been sick for last 3 days so haven't been doing much but laying in bed stupid Buffalo gnats make me sicker than a dog. anyway
went out to clean up this am ..I hadn't been out there for couple days letting DD11 take care of things and she does a really good job...if not like me but still I am a perfectionist and she is not sooo but still she did a very good job. ANY HOW
Found most of the banana peals dries up in the run. Neither ducks nor chickens ate them oh well worth a shot.
But what I did find kinda disturbed me I found paw prints on my human door to the chick coop. Don't know 4 sure if they were cat or coon??? but whatever it was did NOT get in thank goodness. Yah hubby for building fort knox coop lol
I was cleaning duck house (converted dog house in run) and a freaking mouse ran out at me lol scare me and I am not scared of mice it just surprised me. The ducks were in the coop last night not the duck house because DD11 said they were already all (chicks and ducks) snuggled in the coop when she went to shut it up so she left them in there. Her and her dad had been out mowing and such.

So long story short my critters wont eat banana peels....

Some of mine will eat Bananas..............some won't............... They ones that did eat them, never seemed to react negatively.........

I have discovered that our chickens do NOT like bananas...and they left a huge deposit on them to show their true feelings.

Banannna peels are one of the most posionned foods on market. The peeled banannna is ok to use and mine love them. Gloria Jean

I was making banana cake.. had the peels.. chopped them up and threw them to the chickens.. devoured in about 2 seconds.. now I shall watch and see what happens.. no one is convulsing so it must be alright

Anything can be poisonous in large doses... I personally dont believe that one banana peel would hurt a flock.. They say that about chocolate and dogs.. I once watched a neighbors dog eat 5 of those pound bars and he survived... lol

Mine won't touch bananas, the meat or peel.

Mine love frozen bananas, but they don't get a chance to eat the peels cause the goats and calves fight over those!
