Can you help me identify my baby?

How can you bem sure? I am very curious, after research I Found a lot of confliting websites.

And for friends we are trying to arrange that Very soon! So he can have lots of friends and space!
Oh dear, That's a handsome cockerel... I would get him another home and NOT more friends. :hmm

You can be sure by how big and developed his comb and waddles are for the age you state for one thing. The other is that in barred breeds the males will get two copies of the barring gene giving their white a wider appearance than the black... you can see that starting on his neck but he still has some coming in to do. As he ages he would eventually crow and grow pointy saddle feathers like this...

But he isn't mature enough for those yet. Actually he still has grey chick eyes so even his eye color isn't in yet.

You might be able to narrow down sex link or Rock by shank or skin color... but it really is irrelevant as you can't have him for much longer in your described situation. Not sure how long you have had him or where he came from, but hopefully you weren't taken advantage by someone in the know. :barnie

Please when you rehome him... plan ahead and get at least two (preferably 3 in case something happens to 1), sexed female chicks from the feed store next season once you are moved that way you have less risk of roosters or disease for your new starter flock... if that is an option that is available since I can't tell your location. Maybe put that in your profile to help people make valid suggestions in the future. ;)

Good luck! :fl

Thank you Very much for the advice! I actually dont have the intention of giving him away even If it becomes a lovelly and noisy rooster XD I Live near a urban Farm with some Very lovelly (chicken raising) people with whom I intend on making him a New house in case my plans of moving dont Go well. I really apreciate everyones help on identifiyng my litlle Mauri :D I from the start was planing on keeping chicken as pets not as laying hens ( even though that might be nice) due to my belief that chickens make great pets and are só freaking cute lol But If everything goes as planned I'll soon have lots of space to raise a real flock of beautiful chickens!

Unfortunatelly I wasnt lucky with his seller ( because I specifically asked for a female) but at least I'll be better prepared next time!

And of course ask for some advice over here as well!

Hello! This is actually my first post here! I'm almost completelly new to chicken raising and right now I amor raising a about 2/ 2.5 month baby. Unfortunatelly the seller didnt give me much information about her but after digging a bit I believe she's a barren rock but I'm not 100% sure. Also I dont know her sex but by guessing using the apearance she might be a he? Would any of you help me with this identifiyng? Any tips for New chicken owners are also apreciated!
