Can you identify which black breed this hen is?

Could this mystery hen have come from a diffferent hatchery than the previous ones?
Sometimes the "same" breed will be different if it comes from another source.

(Even if you bought them from the same store, they might have gotten their chicks from a different hatchery this year.)

I don't know if this helps, but one of my Australorps (three and a half years old) has been laying lighter eggs since she started molting. She is not laying at all right now, but the eggs are more cream-colored like what you have there. Next time she lays one I'll post a picture. For the first three years she laid typical Australorp brown eggs and then a heat-wave came and this molt started and now her eggs are lighter and more irregularly shaped.

Mine is also a "hatchery quality" bird and has had other several problems, for example her tail has always been scraggly and never growing in normally. However, she has always been my favorite. She's the best forager and has the most inquisitive personality.

However, in all other ways mine looks and behaves like an Australorp. Yours has more variation than she does so I'm not sure. However, I have had cream-colored eggs from an Australorp so it is possible. I chalked it up to the heat and the molt.

Okay, so here’s what the farm supply store said when I asked about her:
So sorry to hear that! We use Hoovers Hatchery in Iowa, and the only black chickens we order from them are Black Australorps and Midnight Majesty Marans. They don’t even offer the black Sumatra for us to order as far as we are aware. I’m not sure what else she could be, since I’m most familiar with the breeds we commonly order from them. Hopefully she’ll be a productive later despite not being the breed you had hoped for! Apologies for not having any more ideas on breeds. But thanks for letting us know!
And here’s some new pics of her. Still no clue but definitely still not looking like an Australorp....

My guess would be the midnight majesty marans then. She's cute whatever she is though!
