My husband got some chicks from someone local a couple months ago and we aren't sure what they are or what they could be a mix of. We were told one thing but I think they told us wrong.. he doesnt ‍♀️
Not worried about roo vs hen.
These aren't the greatest pictures, sorry...
    Any guesses?
    Thanks!!!

For starters, welcome to BYC. :welcome I'm no expert on breeds, especially ornamental types. your first looks like a australorp, your second a buff orpington. 3 and 5 I'm clueless on, and your third is some kind of polish. sorry, that's all I can give. :idunnothis is out of my knowledge. hopefully someone else can help.

    Do you know how old?
1 Austrolorp Depending on age, could be a cockerel
    2 Buff Orpington probable pullet
3 Mix breed cockerel. Possibly an ee. What type of comb?
4 mix breed pullet. Maybe a silkie mix
    5 mix breed pullet.

    Thanks!!
After some research on my own before posting here I was thinking the 1st was an Australorp also!
We have some pure bread polish around the same age and their top hats are much larger so I didn't consider them... I guess it could be a mix...

Is it just me or is there some white lacing in the front of the black ones neck? Also the lighting makes it hard for me to tell how dark it's legs are.

The ones pictured are all about 2months...
#3 I'm thinking has a fairly small comb... we have a few with these markings. I will have to double check so I don't give the wrong info.

He appears to have a pea comb, or another such close to the skull comb... but his markings are all male.

See the black leakage in the tail? Stance and shape is off too. Not a Buff orp.

All are mixed breeds. 1 and 3 are cockerels, the rest are pullets.

I believe I’m seeing a small crest on 1, so not a Black Austrolorp.
