Symptoms:
First Week: No eating and drinking unless I used an eyedropper (that was fun), filled up nostrils, eyes crusted shut, being very still.
My Actions: Vet Rx to help with head cold(?), Tetracycline in water (dropped into her mouth). Wondering if she may have lice. I treat with some Parmytherin (spelling?) on her feathers. I'm trying to cover all of the bases.
Second Week: No more head cold, eyes open (yea! sort of), still not eating. Notice that the top half of her beak has grown over the bottom and realize that she can't eat! I begin filing the overgrown tip of the beak. She begins to eat and drink like crazy!
I'm thinking that she's good to go until....
Third Week: Head is being held lower than normal. She's walking but not like normal. She is now standing in her water dish and putting her entire head in the water. Suicide? Just kidding, but it is really looking oddly scary.
What the heck is going on????
