Ok. It has been 26 weeks since the ducks hatched, and still there are no eggs. I mean, it’s not the end of the world that they haven’t produced eggs, but it would be nice if they would start. So I was wondering, if I put these falsies in the pen, would it somehow trigger a biological response into the ducks to lay eggs. You know, as if the ducks’ brain would think subconsciously that another bird laid an egg and they must compete biologically. What do you think?

This actually does work, that's not what they're thinking though. If they see the false eggs, they automatically think it must be safe to lay their eggs too.

Just be patient, they will start laying when they are ready. It's winter short nights, so you may have to wait until the days become significantly longer plus it depends on the breed.
My Duckies have started to lay just recently, I assume they're about the same age - Indian runners are mine.
I use the false eggs to tell my girls where to lay there's

Yup, I have runners too! Aren’t they great?

Once they start you'll be thinking down the road, girls don't you need to take a break? Mine when they started laid a straight 18months before they took a break.

Love to see yours all grown up @Enigmius :pop

Quacking bowling pins on legs! :lau
Mine are fawn and white, if they come running straight at me they look like wearing a brown sweater and white shorts. - Greenish eggs they lay.
They really are a hoot. Love that visual

Mine looks like yours but mine lay only white eggs! What's up with that, not that it really matters but that seems weird to me. How's your leg?
