I would help it. I had 2 that had pipped and not made progress. As soon as i knew one had died, i helped the second. It turned out to be too dry and the membrane/skin was stuck to the chick so it could not move. You just cant take the shell off the bottom of the chick where it is attached. It HAS to dry and fall off itself. I took the piece of shell that fell off from the pip and used it to pick away the shell until it was at least able to breath. Then i left it for a little while longer and chipped a little more til its wings were free. Then i let it finish by itself. You really have to follow your heart, but i know i did the right thing.
