I had some free quail offered to me and it's a really good oppurtunity. I would like to take them.

I will also have baby chicks around the time the quail hatch and I was curious if I could brood them together, or in the same coop afterwards. It's perfectly fine if I can't, but it would be easier if I could.

Thanks!

as long as the coop and run is completly enclosed in atleast chicken wire you *could*, however depending on what breed your chickens are and what their temperment is will depend on how they do with your quail. I've heard of some doing this and the chickens peck them relentlessly. I too am housing some quail with my chickens during the day, so far they keep to themselves the first time i witness any issues though my quail will have to leave the pen.

i had 2 silver phoenix chicks in the brooder with 12 coturnix and one button quail, but or course the button quail was 2 weeks old, the coturnix a week old and the chickens a day old. they are still housed together, although someone came and bought all my coturnix. i still have 4 of them in with the chickens and the button.

i am REALLY new to quails. these are my first quails. ever. hopefully can learn a bit from keeping up on this thread!!

(note, the ones with purple on them were made that way so that people who came in to buy them would know which ones i was keeping)

That's pretty cool to know!!!

But I just found out the chickens won't come until 3 or 4 weeks after the quail, so I'm just going to raise them separately. But I welcome any quail facts!!!
