Well, JUST FOR KICKS my children and I took the 4 eggs our broody was sitting on, and used method No.1: Three are longish, meaning they'll be roosters, and one is round, meaning a girl.
Then, JUST FOR KICKS, we took my wedding ring, hung it from a string, and let it hang over each egg. The longish three had it circling clockwise, meaning roosters again, and the round egg had it circling counterclockwise, meaning it's a hen.
So, check back with me in a few months, and I will let you know if we have 3 roosters and 1 hen, or what. This will be the ULTIMATE test, and after that I will rent out my wedding ring to whover else wants to try it.

Will it work if I rub it on my little chikies already hatched? Or let them scratch in it?

With that and my singing to them, they will SURELY turn into pullets.

These babies are rose combs (EE) chickens, I don't know HOW old they have to be before you can tell, so it would be best if they are just pullets.
