A hen lays basically the same shape egg every time. Now, if that was true about shape=sex, then hatcheries wouldn't destroy thousands of rooster chicks every season. I have hens who always lay very rounded eggs, one in particular, who usually throws cockerels. Try flipping a coin and record your results over each egg you set. Bet you'd do as well with that method.

Hey, the cool thing about this myth is that Plato, Socrates, and Homer each had a version of this same thing. Homer and Plato said pointy=male, and Socrates said the opposite.
No, for the pullet sand to work you have to bury the eggs in sand, do an Egyptian chant, and light a fire over them.
