Can you/should you wrap the keel area on a duck with a pressure sore to the area?

Ugh I know! I feel horrible for her. If you zoom in you can see the skin around the scabs looks healthy. There is one small spot where the scab has come off and the skin under it looks good so I’m hoping we can get this healed. Today was her last dose of oral antibiotics. She seems to be feeling much better but the wound makes me worry. I treated her for wet feather as well. She doesn’t really like baths in her old age. I’m going to keep treating the wound daily with vetrimycin and silver sulfadiazine cream until it heals.

She needs to be kept away from flies too if there is still an opening in her wound you def don't want to have to deal with maggots.
I was hoping @casportpony would chime in she has a lot of knowledge about caring for wounds.

I didn't even think of that! Ugh! Thankfully, we don't have many flies at all to deal with. I keep everything super clean and even our coop is 99% fly free. I'm insane about scooping all the poop. The good thing is the scab is very dry (other than the meds) and her feathers cover it so it does have protection. I'm checking it several times a day, but I didn't even think of flies being an issue. Something else to keep an eye on.

Since it's dry and healing I'd say you have been doing a good job taking care of this.
Only thing I would have done differently is to clip the feathers away from the wound to keep any from being inside the wound when it started closing.
