Can you spare a prayer or two for our dog?

Thanks everyone. She is doing a lot better today-the vet called this morning and said that Daisy walked a little by herself, including using that leg. She also went outside to use the potty so that's a good sign too.

WOOT!

Prayers for Daisy's complete recovery.....best of luck!

Thanks again to everyone. We picked Daisy up on Monday and she was really happy to see us. She's been sequestered in the garage and we've been taking her for walks several times a day. She limps but we have to hold on tight to keep her from running, and today she was just sure we wanted to throw her ball for her. That didn't happen. She goes back to the vet on Monday and if she is released from solitary confinement, she'll be staying in our fenced yard unless someone is keeping a close eye on her to make sure she stays home. Even with the invisible fence I don't think I can be confident that it wouldn't happen again, and since we have a large fenced area, there's no reason we can't use it for her. It was originally put up to keep kids in and dogs out so the kids could play where there's no dog poop but now the kids are older and they will probably be the ones picking up the dog poop. lol.

Glad to hear she is doing better!
My one dog got hit by a car with her previous owners (they were very neglectful) and did nothing about it ,despite the fact that her leg was severely broken and her head got hit as well, it is lopsided (her bite is very slanted) and the bone in her back leg healed sticking out, so she walks on that leg with a 45 degree angle pointing inward. It's sad. It's a good thing Daisy did not get killed or severely damaged!!

:( that sounds like my inlaws. One of their dogs got run over (by FIL I think) in the driveway so not high speed but still-and he did nothing. The dog survived but who knows how much pain he must have been in. Their current dog wouldn't even have his shots or heartworm meds if DH didn't take him in (at my suggestion) and give him the meds each month. My dh wasn't really the type to spend a lot of $$ on a pet but I've changed that about him. He didn't even flinch when he saw this bill and even said he figured it would be double what it was. Someone dropped off a kitten at our house a few weeks ago and he goes in for a neuter next week. DH hasn't said a word.

It is horrible that people get animals and do not really care for their needs, like with my dog, I do not understand how you know this poor dog has been hit, has bad injuries and do not even take it to the vet! I mean, her leg is essentially useless to her now, when it could have easily been placed in a cast/splint to at least heal straight. It infuriates me!
Lol good job on rubbing off on the DH

So, Daisy does not have any injuries then (cuts/breaks etc), just a bit tender from the whole ordeal?

She has scrapes on her face (scarily close to her eye and her eyelashes are gone) and a bare spot on her side. I think maybe some minor cuts on her feet too. She lost two nails but she has a disease that causes her nails to fall out so she may be more susceptible to nail loss than most dogs. Otherwise she doesn't seem to have any major injuries. She still limps and may for a long time. She gets metacam for pain every day and after it's gone she will get tramadol as needed. It's so hard to know if animals are in pain though.
