Can you suggest a quiet, friendly breed to a newbie?

I'm brand new to this. I need a quiet breed in consideration of my skeptical neighbor (refer to the 'truth about chicken noise' thread for more info on the neighbor), and a friendly breed so the many kids around here can enjoy the hens, too.

Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

We got chicks 8 weeks ago: Buff Orpingtons, barred rocks, and a buff cochin.

None are unfriendly, but my Buff Orpingtons definitely enjoy human interaction and contact much more than the others. They aren't loud or easily riled up. Three of my five Buff Orps come up to me every time I'm near them, wanting some attention. One, Sweetie is her name, demands to be held and won't lay off peeping and following me til I hold her for just a minute and talk to her.

Like I said, none of our chicks is loud (yet) or necessarily unfriendly, but the Buff Orpingtons in our flock are clearly the friendliest to humans.

Speckled Sussex. By far, the friendliest chickens I have had, out of Buff Orpingtons, Rocks, EEs, Wyandottes, Black Australorps, Barnies, Wellies. Also quiet and calm.
