or do you have to wait until they start getting feathers? just hatched out a few chabos from my flock (frizzld roo's over smooth feathered hens) and im hoping for a few frizzy little chicks! but they all just look like normal fluffy little chicks right now (a few hours old, dried out and fluffed up)

Maybe within a week or two when they start feathering out.

Do they turn upwards when a frizzle is feathering out ? As I have a few which could be either frizzled or straight feather.

Any other indications would be grand.

    Regards
    Dr Rob.

My frizzle that just hatched a couple weeks ago was super obvious from about the second or third day of his life. Even before I could see the curl to the feather I could tell they were going to be frizzled.

There are degrees of frizzle and some you can tell in a day or so and others take a week or so. I have some chicks that were a silkie hen to a couple of frizzle roos there were some smooth and some frizzle. The frizzling showed up at different times.
