can you tell if you have a frizzle from day 1 or?

or do you have to wait until they start getting feathers? just hatched out a few chabos from my flock (frizzld roo's over smooth feathered hens) and im hoping for a few frizzy little chicks! but they all just look like normal fluffy little chicks right now (a few hours old, dried out and fluffed up)

My frizzle that just hatched a couple weeks ago was super obvious from about the second or third day of his life. Even before I could see the curl to the feather I could tell they were going to be frizzled.
 
There are degrees of frizzle and some you can tell in a day or so and others take a week or so. I have some chicks that were a silkie hen to a couple of frizzle roos there were some smooth and some frizzle. The frizzling showed up at different times.
