Can anyone tell me if I'm right about the gender of these birds... The father of all of them is a Barred Rock Rooster (and he's huge.) The mothers could be a light colored EE, a Maran, a purebred Ameraucana, or purebred a buff orpington... They are all 3 months old - as of two days ago.

I'm numbering them to try to keep track...

BIRD #1 - I think Male (the one in the center)

BIRD #2 I think Male

BIRD #3 - I am hoping is female, but I'm not 100% sure

BIRD #4 I think is female

BIRD #5 I think is female

I've never played the guessing game before - I was just told what the birds were in the past (And was told incorrectly) so this is my first try at guessing...

All are pullets except number 1 so you got 4/5 right. Very good for a first try.
I WANT them all to be pullets because I want them for the eggs, boys will be sold (I am not able to kill and eat them myself.)

Why do you think #2 is a pullet? What am I missing? I was just noticing the tail feathers and some of the wing feathers... I know I've heard about the combs and wattles being different in males vs females, but since they vary with breeds, I'm always confused :)

Numbers 1 & 2 ARE MALES..NUMBER 2 AN EASTER EGGER CROSS, can tell he's a he by tail; NUMBERS 3, 4, AND 5 ARE FEMALES...Take care...
