I've got a chick that I am caring for, for a friend, he/she was attacked by flock due to being put straight in with them from the brooder. I went in this morning to check on everyone, I have some chicks that were hatched about three days ago, they are in separate pens. The patient started making a noise that reminded me of a Roo, standing up on toes, stretching out wings and making a noise that reminded me of a sad attempt at crowing.

Guessing 4 to 6 weeks, if saddle feathers mean where a roo sinks his claws in, that won't happen for probably another 4 weeks, little one is in my hospital cage being treated from being attacked by flock mates, had a SOS from a friend and went and I got him/her.. Almost all of the back feathers were lost in the attack, some of the wing feathers all of the tail feathers.
