Can You Tell Production Red Eggs from Plymouth Barred Rocks?

The reason I ask is because my new chicks are about 17 BR's and 15 production red pullets, which I planned in housing in same coop. However I was hoping there would be just enough difference in the eggs to separate them, the PRs for sale or use as food and at least some of the BR's for hatching. Can you tell a difference, i.e., some speckling or slight color difference, or are they too much alike? Thanks. Connie

With that many hens you probly won't be able to tell unless you caught them in the act. My RI reds did always lay a little darker and bigger egg then my BR but I only had 3 of each and I knew who's egg was who's.

I think they're gonna look the same

But, you could put a red roo in there and hatch out pure Red chicks and black sex-links
