Can you tell what breed when they are chicks?

I know that it's suggested that you get true Ameraucanas from an actual breeder. Ignoring this advice for a minute. If you were to see them for sale as chicks, is there anyway to identify them to see if they are actually Ameraucanas? All of the descriptions I've seen have been for older birds. I'm just curious. I didn't know it would be so hard to find a real ameraucana!

They should have slate gray legs and pea combs. Some recognized varieties are blue black splash buff and red. There are more but that is all the ones I know. Best of luck getting them true!
