can you trim spurs?

I am thinking of trimming or twisting my roo's spurs off too. I did some searching, and I found this. Good luck.

To make it easier to twist them off some people cook a potato and push it onto the spur not touching the skin and leave it there for a minute. This softens the hard shell so they come off easier.

OK I now trim or remove the roosters spurs about every 7 months. I use pliers to twist off the spur nail, it comes right off. Then I use dog toenail trimmers and cut back the spur stub that is left. It will bleed some, so I use Quick Stop. You can use flour too. Good to go for about 7 months!
