Nice! I've never gotten a water heater. I never bothered because I thought they costed a lot of money, but while we are on the topic. How much are water heaters?

They are cold but surviving.

Sunny here in Southern Ontario but very cold. Had a lovely light snowfall last night. Everything was covered in a light powder of snow. Very pretty. It's about -7 c. My chickens are cold but seem happy in their coop with a waterer that is slightly heated so water doesn't freeze.

They lay an egg a day...all 11 of them.

Just wondering out of pure curiosity, do any of you wish that we had a program similar to the NPIP certification here in Canada?
Basically some sort of optional certification that breeders can choose to attain by proving their birds to be free of the common communicable diseases. Therefore allowing others to have the option of paying a bit more to purchase new stock knowing they have been proven healthy.
