No you are right empire is the BEST!! We used to live in Prince Edward County and would go to Campbellford before we'd buy from Black River even. I haven't seen empire in the shops at all out here. Balderson it must be...No to Wilton cheese, I really don't like it.

Ah precisely! I still buy wilton along with the big names (depends on my budget/what I'm doing with the cheese). But my sister is in Belleville and I'll often pick up an empire brick if I've got time when I visit

I'd like to try making my own cheese one day....

My first broody of the year is starting to sit. I’m planning on collecting my Silkie eggs for her to sit on. I’m trying to get Showgirls and really don’t need tonnes more Silkies LOL You’re welcome to some of the chicks if you like. I’ll see how many I can collect quickly and hatch and we can go from there. Since they’re raised by a hen and not in a brooder I’m not picky about selling them right away to make space.

There used to be a cheese factory just outside of lakefield ( E of Peterborough). Omg I miss that place! Nothing beats fresh curds.
