Located in Central Manitoba and a newbie to the chicken world! I am hoping to learn more about open air coops for my 20 layers.

Hi guys, I'm in Neebing, ON - south of Thunder Bay.
I just started my first flock, lavender orpingtons, ameraucanas and Swedish Isbars. (Silverudds). I would love to add a polish frizzle, some cochins and some copper marans.... If anyone has any leads on how to get some polish frizzles, I'd love to hear it. ❤
Hey neighbour, we're up in Slate River. Where did you get your Isbars? I was planning to hatch a few Black Copper Marans, I will let you know. I should have some extras with any luck.

(and the ducks of course.)Wow, I didn’t expect to find many from my neck of the woods on here! Haha. That’s awesome.
I’ll have some Icelandic coming at the beginning of June, right now I’ve got a couple silkie crosses, a sebright cockerel, a whiting true blue, and a gimpy EE.(and the ducks of course.)

I live on the “outskirts” but work in the valley.Hey, that's awesome. What side of town are you on? Icelandics seem like a great breed up here, nice and self-sufficient. We'd really like to start a flock of Bantam Vorwerks, right now we don't have any bantams - I'd need to build a new coop and run for that. Maybe next spring!
There was a gentleman that had a nice flock of icey’s, got eggs from him, but they got massacred by a mink.
so I ordered in some chicks. Lol. I like the size of them, and they’re supposed to be a little bit more aware of their surroundings. We’ll see if it’s true. Haha.
So far all of mine are together with no issues between the various sizes, but they’re still quite young so we’ll see how things progress. That sounds like such a fun mix of breeds!what kind of ducks do you have??
By the way I currently have one blue Ameraucana roo that won't be able to stay - either of you interested?

Oh wow how awesome, didn't think I'd find 'neighbours' on here!
I got my Isbars at Hurkett Hill farm, she's getting ready to sell off her Isbars, though. I think right now she's still hatching eggs. Oh and I would love a few marans!!

Thanks! Life here is pretty good. But the black flies are coming, so there’s that. I’ve got a sweet little half dozen pullets: two Silver Laced Wyandotte’s, two Golden Laced Wyandottes, one Golden Brahma and a White Delaware.Hi @Madvalleychick Welcome to BYC
What birds do you have?
I loved the Ottawa valley when I lived in Ottawa. Anywhere but the city is always a great place it be eh?
