Canadians check in here....

Lol! Well rain sucks too I guess. Man I hope we don't have a wet summer :/ considering all the building projects I have planned that would really suck.

We have had an actual blizzard these last two days. It looks to be clearing up now but I'm not sure I trust it.

Hi everyone! I'm new here, this is my first post. I live in Southern NB and currently have 5 production brown and white layers. LOVE my girls but we're really looking at expanding our little flock and adding some variety. Does anyone here know of any shipping of day old chicks of different breeds within Canada, or have any experience transporting them from across the border? I have a US address and live not to far from Maine, I just worry about the paper work for coming back.

Hi everyone. Quick question. About 2weeks ago I purchased 18-20 week old red sex link ready to lay hens. In the past they have laid eggs right away, but after 2 weeks I still don't have eggs. I live in the Ontario area and I know the weather has been colder than usual. Is this normal that they are not laying eggs yet?
Thanks for the help my Canadian friends.

Mine went through a little phase for the first time (they will only be 1 in May) where they didn't lay this Spring (for maybe 2 weeks I only got about 3 eggs total out of 5 hens) They were also pretty sporadic when they first started laying. I remember getting so excited when I got my first egg. Only to have to wait about 3 weeks to get another one lol

We picked up our chicks n ducklings from DC Heritage Farm today! What a great farm and the drive there couldn't be beat! Danielle and family were great and we ended up taking home more than we'd originally ordered! lol

Vary nice. What breeds of chicks and ducklings did you get?

Bre
I will list a best I can. We ended up w a few breeds not in my original order after visiting the farm! Bantam RiR, Phoenix, dominique, black australorp, gold and silver wyandotte, swedish duck, Rouen, magpie, and a few I can remember the name of atm. lol I think maybe Sussex, Welsummer, Orpington may be among my extra chicks. Now if the rest of the snow will melt off I can go build their coop!
