Canadians check in here....

Hmm just reread my letter from her and says our GLW and SLW will be running together again this year! So must have last year too!

I bought two dozen; a variety of breeds; I had two hatch. I got mine in February or March. I thought perhaps the time of the year didn't help.

That's the only chicken eggs I've purchased. I brought the eggs home myself. I do have Silkie roosters that originate from her place...I took them in from a lovely lady who couldn't keep roosters. They've been stellar. And the chicks from the two eggs did really well.

Hmm but if you brought home they did not have that crazy post offic trip so should have done well! I think I will leave it as I don't want SLW Roos with gold leakage. Which in looking back on forums on here is what I would get as well!

I thought I'd be ahead of the game with bringing them home...lol.

I wouldn't mind finding SLW but same thing...I don't want leakage either. I'm super hesitant on bringing home eggs in the first place. So I haven't...lol.

Hello!

I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia but recently moved to Berwick for my job. I'm also new to BYC and new to chickens in general!

I'm getting my first ones in April and I can't wait!

I hope your move went well! I'm only about 15 minutes away!

Thank you! It actually has gone pretty smoothly. We're loving it here in Kings County (moved a second time due to complications..), and can't wait to get started with farming this spring :)

Awesome! I have a fairly decent sized garden this year, so if you want to trade some produce, let me know! I'm growing a lot of cool kinds of tomatoes
