I guess I would hardly call me hysterical Adam, but whatever.
We know MM has a problem. According to my vet, if good housekeeping is done at MM, the problem will correct itself in as little as a month. Don't know what MM is doing. If you have chicks that are the same breeds that are known to have a problem, I would cancel that part of the order without question. I have lost about 40 chicks so far, and it is horrifying to lose beautiful fat, fluffy, healthy looking chicks that just one day fall over and slowly die after I had spent the time and money (food) on them. Sure, MM will replace lost chicks. What they can't replace is your time or the emotional drain. Not really something I want to do again. That isn't to say that you should never order those breeds from MM again, I just wouldn't do it in the short term.
Chicks of breeds not affected, if you like MM, I probably would not cancel.
