Thanks. If anyone is interested I can share the excel file for it.

Just candled and 12 of first set are alive and moving, 10 from 2nd set are all veined, even the double yoke Speckled Sussex im keeping in just to see if it will hatch. I set 23 more in the Hova-bator and pick up 2 doz from guy at feed store on Friday and possibly 2 doz tomorrow from the farm. Less than a week for my first lock down and very excited, will be my first hatch of the year.

Congrats on the duck eggs going well so far.

Share file pls.

Good luck to everyone's lockdowns right now. I have set 2 on lockdown tomorrow.

Here's my ugly home made incubator. I just added the wire rack and pvc pipe to turn the eggs from the outside. It used to have a nice tray it came with but I didn't want to open it 3+ times a day to turn them. Also added the pvc and container on inside to add water. I plan on making a cage of some type below for lockdown so I can fill it back up right away. Nothing special, but is fun to play around with and change. This one I will be setting 3 doz barnyard eggs tomorrow. Also making another one out of a styrofoam steak cooler I picked up last year. A turner from most styro incubators will fit in perfect with room for a hatching area. I plan on adding a nice size piece of glass on top for viewing. So nice to experiment and hatch your own chicks making your own incubators, feels accomplishing.

Disaster struck last night one of my sweet kiddos turned the hatcher off. I am a bit upset the temperature was down to 75 by the time I got up. I am very upset hoope everyone still makes it this batch has had a rough go with there severe detached air cells and such I am going to candle for movement in a bit. I know they are in lockdown but no internal pips yet one egg (the only one out of 13) is on day 21 today the rest are on day 19 with a Saturday do date. Although the second batches do include bantams which can hatch early I know the air cells seem very big in all of them.

Oh man, give them an extra day if they are still moving..

Yeah they are still moving but I am now dealing with the incubator temp spiking grrr got home from work and temp said 105 my daughter said it wasn't that high for very long and I guess the fact that they are still moving confirms that it wasn't too long but any survivors from this bunch will truly be miracles.

They are very tough boogers. I bet you have pips to report in the morning.
