Candeling and hatching diary.

What kind of duck eggs?
I'd leave the eggs alone for now. Most chicken eggs hatch around the 21st day, but can hatch earlier or later. Its possible that your incubator temperature was slightly off, and would cause them to develop a little slower. I'd give them at least another day before candling them.
I have duck eggs that are due today! Heard chirping this morning...at 10:00 am. Lots of movement then.... Still no cracks or breaks in the shell,,, haven't seen any movement... Is this normal or is there a problem???

TOTALLY NORMAL, they have to rest. Now if you sit there and stare at them you'll see them moving again it may not be huge movements but they move usually I see mine wiggling end wiggling then the day before there due date NOTHING absolutely nothing. Its like what what happened little guys then boom there's a crack. Lol

Ok. I know I'm posting this incorrectly! But HAVE to run out the door for work! Important question: My ducklings are due to hatch today! Eggs have been moving for 3 days and really rocking the past 2! I can hear one chirping inside and the other clicking! They are really moving those eggs but no cracks in the shell yet! Should I have the eggs on a flat smooth surface or in a stationary position so the duckling can maneuver without the egg rolling around? How long is too long at this point before he should crack the shell? What to do????? Thx!!!

If you have them in a turner, YES, get them FLAT, they will never make it if they stay in the Turner.  Ducks have to be flat, not sure why haven't figured that part out but I have tried all different kinds of ways and laying flat is the BEST thing for them.

What kind of ducks are they?
Ok... Still hear chirping, but no movement and no external pipping!!!!!!! Aaaargh

The duck that just hatched fully around 2 today was due yesterday at noon. It started moving on Saturday then internally pipped on Tuesday. I found a tiny external pip on Wednesday and it finally pushed it of it's egg today.

Has it been at least 24 hours since the chirping?

That's a duck for you, they take there time. They are in NO rush, I think they concentrate on prepping themselves in those eggs rather then concentrate on getting out. LOL

How long do y'all leave eggs that didn't hatch on hatch day in the incubator for I can't candle them bc the eggs or to dark I couldn't candle the whole time I had them in there I tried couldn't see anything I didn't even knw if I was going to have any chicks I have 25 out of 42 that hatched is that good or bad this is my first time
