Here's a photo of a group I came across on Google, some of them have this weird beak it seems almost. I also have seen it in some books. Also, almost like a hookbill.

Today, the first duck egg that I helped open up, the duckling that was half out half in with it's yolk sac attatched- it's a girl. And her feathering is very pretty, photo to come later.

Still weirded out by Hooker (that's it's name now).

Anyway, I'm done hatching for the year but this is still a great thread, I come here from time to time to see what's up, lol!

Check out the coloring. That silvery with gold/brown penciling is pretty. Since it's a hen, I hope she keeps it.

OMG, that's what I call the ugly stage. LOL but she'll feathering in some GORGEOUS colors..

She's feathering out really badly, not in literal terms but yeah- not graceful at all.

Thinking that she's going to look sort of like the appleyard look, just in reverse. I can't find photos of possibilities online though.
