I just went and candled my broody hens eggs and it just looks like a blob inside.Should be on day 7 or 8.Is that what I'm suppose to see? Never done this before and done lots of research but no clear pictures of what I'm suppose to be seeing. Is there a link besides the stickey that can help clear things up for me or someone explain a bit more for me.PLEASE! I don't know what I'm doing.

LOL!

Looked there but pictures aren't all that great.Am I suppose to be seeing part of the shell darkend this early on? What signs do I need to look for that an embryo has dies off besides the blood ring?

In my limited experience, by day 7 or 8 you really should be seeing veins and/or what looks like a spider. You'll see a small dark blob with a bunch of veins going away from it giving the appearance of a spider. Really, at this point, the veins are the most important to see. Look at the edge of the aircell for veins that run down into the egg. It's easier to see with a light-colored egg and a strong light. If you have weak light and/or dark shells, it can be tough.

I don't have a broody, but many people say theirs will know if the eggs are good or not. For now I would say trust her instincts. Good luck!
