candle darker eggs

I try to tell all the students where I place incubators, not to candle the eggs in one bator and candle those in the other. I have found that the hatch rate will drop from over 85% to around 60% when candling. I think it has something to do with the temp drop when candling. It could be that all the students want to see each egg candled and they are kept out to long. I don't candle any eggs at home, just let nature takes its course. We did candle all the eggs when selling to the local markets. That has for blood spots not chicks. I sure wish I had that set up now. I might consider candling the eggs then.
