I bought 24 - seller sent extras and I couldn't bear to let them go to waste, and I had seen a lot of photos from members here with them packed as tight and thought, "Eh,
seems like common practice."

Also, I assumed when candled - more than 2 would be duds after the whole shipping ordeal -

So are they too tight to leave or should they stay in there?

they are not too tight.. if they fit, and they do, and they develope, and they are, they do not need the space of a football field to hatch..

once a couple of them are hatched, you couldn't keep them in the shell if you tried.. they will run all over the top of the rest of the eggs.. no biggie..

You got eggs going nicely in Brinsea and wany to move them to LG???? Noooooooooo ! ! !

LG's are embrio killers. Forget LG, candle lighter eggs at lockdown, if you have any dudes, problem solved, if not hatch them all in Brinsea.

Chicks never hatch all at the same time, after few hatches out and dries out take them out and you'll have more room for the rest.

Do NOT worry about "losing humidity" in case of Brinsea humidity and temperature are recovered fast in few minutes cause Brinsea has relative low total air volume. Just make sure both wells are filled with water (to the edge since you will not be swinging it (turning) after lockdown, sometimes it is necessary to add a small towel on the bottom to increase humidity if it is not sufficient just from filling the wells.

Back to LG, it needs to be stabilised, babysitted and constantly watched since you can not trust temp and humidity using LG.

It is only for experienced people and those who suffer from insomnia since you have to watch it at night too.

I got one, it was my first bator, it is in houshold museum now.

Brinsea ALL THE WAY !!!!

I have 4 of them , I had 8 before I got my 2000 egg bator and 3 sportsmans.. I still use them and get great hatches from them and I also have NEVER lost any sleep over them.. ever hear of set them and forget them>?? I do..
