Candler????Anyone know the answer?

I got one very similar to that this year at Advance Auto Parts and it works amazing for candling! Very durable and if it breaks (which mine hasn't despite being dropped accidentally several times) it's cheap to replace! Also comes with a handy (though a little small) carrying strap

I made a candler out of a shop lamp with a piece of cardboard with foil on the side near the light so it wouldn't burn. I put an 85 watt halogen light in it I cut a hole in the middle of the cardboard large enough to set the pointy end of an egg in. It works great. I made the hole in my lamp a little smaller for candling Pheasant and quail eggs.

I made one out of a clay flowerpot I set upside down on crumpled tin foil inside a tin with an old light bulb and wire thing I had out of an old lamp. I tuck a black cloth around the rim where the pot meets the tin foil. 60 watt bulb. Works great. I smoothed the pot hole with an old steak knife.

i like the old coffee can type the bulb is replaceable and so is the socket and cord. ebay has them all the time for like 15.00 they are 35.00 new.and if the shell is darker and thick you can up the watage and seethrew them,
