I can't find what I want locally and I might take the dive into purchasing and having shipped, but that's why I haven't yet...they are the one things I want and I'd be so dissapointed if they didn't hatch and I hate wasting money like that.
 
Yes I couldn't find any of the ones I wanted either (except the welsummers) but once Met the breeders I found that they had more breeds than advertised. I may just have to look around.

So if I only get 10 chicks do you think it's too late in the year to do another set right away? I'm in Missouri.

If you have the proper set ups you can hatch all year round. I will NEVER EVER EVER hatch this late in the season again...lol I did last year (hatched in November) and I'm in Northern NY. I housed them (started with 13 got rid of the extra roos as soon as I was sure they were roos and had 8 chickens left) inside the whole winter in the "play room". If you have a draft free space and can provide heat for them until they fully feather out (and don't have to house them inside) no reason you can't.
 
We still have a couple months until winter.

I don't know.. I'll do the math.

Ok, I removed 1 2 4 17 and 22.

It was all I could bare. The others seemed to have a mass or were just too dark for me to make a decision.

We did open them and the clears were not noteworthy. The early deaths had some small tissue but it wasn't too bad.


I will candle again on Saturday for lock down and make some more hard choices.
