Candling - Day 3?

Exciting! If they were shipped eggs it's probably best to leave them be for the majority of the time but you might want to check on day 10 and just before you put them into lockdown so you can remove any that have died. Eggs that haven't started developing at all will be fine left in, but if an embryo dies at some point during incubation bacteria takes over and that's when an egg can explode. You don't want that as it will contaminate your other eggs. Have a towel under your eggs as you hold them to candle them and keep them low so if you do drop them by accident they won't fall far and it will be a soft landing.

Thanks! I brought them from a local farm for a dollar a egg which I thought was pretty cheap so I didn’t have my hopes up, but it’s exciting to see some progress! I’m gonna candle them all on day 10 but other than that I’m gonna keep them locked down till day 18, seeing I’m hatching them with a lamp and a shoebox I’m pretty happy that I’m getting somewhere hopefully
