Hiya peeps of the internet!
Just like Obi Wan, you are my only hope. We had a duck recently start nesting above our pool after a few days we noticed she abandoned the nest. As ducks come and go freely during nesting (this is the second duck to chose this location this year) we assumed she would come back; however, the next morning she was no where to be seen.
We waited all day before collecting the eggs and putting them in an incubator in hopes she would return (we have crows who have been bothering her and we think they ran her off as there was feathers of both species around) the nest had 3 eggs and I was just able to candle them for the first time today Bc I did not have a flashlight.
As I have no idea what I’m looking for other than veins, I’m a little lost. I don’t think there are any and when combing through the internet for answers my unprofessional diagnosis of these eggs is embryonic death.
I’m not even sure what the eggs are supposed to look like or how old they would even be. I’ve been keeping them in an incubator at the suggested temperature and humidity levels and have been turning them (although I think they are dead). Can someone more experienced lend a hand and tell me what I have here?
Thank you so much.
