Candling HEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP!

Ok, I'm an idiot, or maybe these old eyes just can't see any more, or maybe I AM an idiot! I have studied all the candle posts, pictures, and read and reread everything I can about candling. I am on day 6 of my first batch ever. 26 Golden Buff eggs. They range from lighter to rather dark brown, so I know that doesn't help. I candled the first 5 tonight. What I see is nothing like anything in any of the pictures I see of candling. Have I KILLED my babies???? I have no idea if I should be jumping up and down, or crying at their wake. Help me please!!!!! Here are pics of the 5 I candled:

Eggs 4 and 6 were so dark, I couldn't get them to show up with the light under them, so I put the light on top. The pics aren't very good, but can you tell anything at all???? Please hurry with an answer even if it is bad.....I can't stand it! lol

I think you might have killed them.

It is either that or you need a stronger candling light because I can't really see anything in the eggs. What candler do you use? I use a very bright light. Some leave a lot to be desired.

I actually was only using a little LED flashlight up through a hole in a box. Maybe it wasn't bright enough.

It looks like you have really porous eggs. If the light is bright enough, live chicks should have veins in the eggs and they should have a reddish orange color.

Tomorrow I will pick up a regular candler. I hope that is my only problem.

Hmm I think I can see some slight veins don't give up on them yet!

Day 6 is awfully early for candling, specially if you've never done it before.

try again day 10 or even 14.
