Candling help - day 9/10

Well this sucks. Went to check the eggs this morning because the Govee said it was cold; incubator was closed properly but I forgot to wrap my jacket around it again. More upsetting though is that the egg turner wouldn’t turn. I always do a test run on it when I reposition the eggs or check on the incubator in case one got stuck, it seems like maybe the shelf liner got picked up by it somehow?

It’s working again but I don’t trust it. Should I start checking the turner every three hours or whatever the interval is?
What kind of incubator is this? I apologize if it was said previously. It’s crazy you have wrap your jacket around it, and it’s not turning? My nr360 drags them over shelf liner if they get stuck and won’t roll. Maybe your unit is defective? Can you contact the manufacturer and ask them about these issues?

What day are they on? You dont need to go 24/7 with checking them. If you were hand turning it would be 3-5 x per day. I would check first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and as often as possible thru the day, making sure to turn an odd number of times. If this bator pushes them in a circle, mark them with pencil to be sure they are getting a good amount of turning, since the eggs closest to the center go a shorter distance than the ones in the outer rings. Use the marks to be certain they aren’t sitting the long stretch over night in the same position each night.

Same incubator as mine but they are having a hard time with it

I just read the amazon reviews, if you read the 1,2,3 star reviews, the turner breaking is super common. The humidity is also a common complaint, and after that heat. Someone specifically said it won’t reach desired temp unless ambient room temp is 77 degrees. I think you’re lucky yours works, but if the op is able to return it, they should.

It is definitely still within the return window, and I am definitely replacing it with a brinsea! I’m gonna let this hatch ride out since Monday is lockdown and I don’t think the brinsea will get here before then though.

Do you have at least one separately purchased thermometer in there?

Too hot is much more deadly than too cold.

What are you keeping the temp at?
Humidity at?

I have had it in a hot bathroom a cold bathroom in a living room with ac unit going on and off all day and night and still get temps and humidity i want temp is easy enough dont open it and with humidity you need to learn how much water to put it it has 2 troughs the 2nd one you can see if you look inside has a mini wall and is a little higher then the 2nd and needs to be filled up enough before it leaks over into that one but i only ever fill it that much when i want to get into the 60's and higher, also the knob on the back close more to raise humidity and make it take longer to drain humidity open all the way if its just a lil over whst u want and wait for it to come down enough to when u half close it it will prbably go up 1-3 then stay there.

That was a lot make sense ? ,also every were basicly says you are supposed to keep your incubator in a place with a steady temp dousnt it?
