We tried some techniques we have read about but we seem to have problems seeing anything in our eggs. The shells seem to be way to thick. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Black sex link hen and blue Andalusian rooster. They are not real dark color wise but when you hold the light to you can hardly even tell the light is on it.

Freshly picked. I havent candled mine that are incubating yet they should be around 15 days. I have it on my calender. Thanks for the link as well.

On just about any egg but a white one, the best candling is done when you make it dark in the room and either use a candler or get you a bright LED penlight about 1/2" across in size (small flashlight). Those little 6-9 bulb LED suckers will almost make it through a BCM egg.

If you are using the flashlight, you can make a "ring" around the light with your fingers to help focus the light into the egg.
