Candling On Day 5!

They don’t look fertile to me either, but I always leave them in til day 7 and check then. If your temp is off they could just be a bit behind. Usually I can see changes in them as early as 3 days, depending on the egg, but it doesn’t hurt anything to leave them in for a couple more days and check again.
where did you get these eggs from? :)

I explained in another post that I got them from a pet shop. They have an outdoor area with a duck enclosure. They always have new flocks of ducks coming in and this time they had little white ones with tan on some of their backs. I picked up their eggs. But someone said it's possible that there were only female ducks. But I phoned the pet shop to ask and they said there were males and females so.🤷‍♀️

Oh wow😓 Yeah we’ll see what happens. We’ve had a lot of power outages and have had to keep them on out bellies for warmth. (I spoke more about that on my other thread) So temps have been fluctuating a little. Maybe they are late developers, maybe they're infertile maybe they're dead. I guess only time will tell.😊

Oh ok. Didn’t see your other post. :) hard to say, could just be low fertility rates, young drakes, not mating yet...
as long as they don’t smell you can safely leave them in right up until the projected hatch date. I usually don’t pitch anything but blood rings until at least day 14 regardless, unless I absolutely need more space in the incubator or something.

So just keep going?😊
