Candling On Day 5!

Okay I need help! So I candled my eggs and one of them is seeming to develop as it now has a bigger air sac (there was no air sac in any of the, before) and a darkening centre on the yolk. But only one of them has this and the others have nothing. But! There is a slight smell coming from the incubator and some ants are trying to get in. I’m convinced one of them has gone bad. But how do I tell which one if one seems to be developing?? Please help😫

You'll have to pull one out at a time and give it a discerning sniff test.
A growing air cell only signifies weight loss through transpiration of moisture. That will happen whether developing or not.
A darkening center is encouraging.

Unless that is the one that smells. :sick

I candled them all to make sure there was no sign of being rotten on the inside. It’s day 7 today and none of them have any development still😓 I was hoping the air cell meant something good.😑 Oh well. I still wont pull them till day 10. But if there’s no growth by this coming Tuesday, then I’m gonna chuck em or open the up.

I'd open them up after day 10.
I just don't think there is a reason to be impatient unless there is a bad smell.

Air cell will grow with age whether incubated, at room temp or refrigerated.
