Hello everyone! This egg is on day 14 of incubating. Do you think it looks right? Thanks for your help! This is my first hatch and knowing that you experts are here to help is very comforting!

Could it be that the chick is laying right up against the egg or something?

Yeah, I do think I can see faint veins! The eggs are pretty dark so it is hard to see into.

Thank you so much for replying! And btw Happy Easter! Ok, I will keep it! No, this recent time I candled I did not see any movement. Should I see movement all the time? Or does the chick not move all the time? I am new to incubating, so I really appreciate the help!

It's hard to tell from the pic, but that egg looks like day 8-ish quitter to me. You can leave it in just in case, but I doubt that it's still alive.
Put a question mark on it and check it again in a couple days.
Happy Easter!

My duck eggs never look like that, in fact I only get a completely dark egg b4 they arrive or need help getting out. Is being able to tell a learned asset? This is my 2nd spring & I seem to do better last year than this although having the power cut off due to a falling tree did not help. I lost 3 of 4.
