Candling quail eggs

Hey guys! I’m having trouble seeing inside my celadon quail eggs, I tried using my phone light and a small flashlight on the end of one of my pens but I just can’t see through it, I don’t have any small flashlights if anyone can help please tell.

Quail eggs are very thick shelled and thick membraned, I’ve been able to candle my bobwhite eggs with a flashlight made for candling eggs but never with my phone flashlight. You might have already tried this, but if you use your phone flashlight you might be able to see into the egg better in a dark room. Good luck and happy hatching!

Honestly I've been able to candle quail eggs perfectly well with my phone light, holding them at a slight angle on the bigger end. Make sure all lights are off and room is as dark as can be.
