CANDLING question!

What do blanks look like? Unfertilized ones? My bantam is sitting on ten eggs for almost twenty one days. I candled six of them and I can see the yoke, but not even a blood spot! She had a banty roo in with her under a month ago....? He was very active...I exchanged some of her 'blanks' for little Buff Orpington/Brahma eggs.

Hi! Do you have an unincubated egg available to candle and compare? That is pretty much what it would look like.

I just compared, and yes....she was sitting on blanks. Well, atleast she has two other eggs to sit on! Fertile ones, whew!

A friend just came over and candled the 10 eggs under my Cochin.
My 6 standard eggs I asked for on Craigslist are on day 9 and show
"blood vessels"......awesome!
The 4 Bantam my friend gave me showed nothing in 2 and unclear on the other 2-
he tossed 2 and put the 2 maybe back.
