Candling question

I've heard that candling too much will effect the hatch rates. Is this true?

We had been watching a wild turkey nest for a week. One day on my walk I found the mother hen was killed by a bobcat. I didn't have an incubator but I had a broody Bantam - so I figured... why not? At least they would have a chance!
In my fasination - I candled those eggs once a day for a while - sometimes twice a day! I also was turning the eggs until I decided to mark them to see if she was big enough to turn them... she was! I quit candleing them when I couldn't see anything in there anymore. She quit eating and drinking in determination to hatch those eggs. I had to take her outside once a day to get her to go to the bathroom.
On the 26th day all 4 eggs hatched!
Healthy baby turkeys!
I'm sure humidity and tempature had to be off - She was a very little bird camping out in a very chilly barn! It gives me a lot of hope for my first time incubating this year!
