CANDLING- WHAT IS THIS??

Ok, thank you so much, @aart!! You're the best. So excited to finally have my own babies!!! It's so much fun to watch them growing in there, and I can't wait to meet her!

I have a pip!!! My little baby is coming out! I can hear her cheeping in there and the egg is wiggling around, and it's the cutest, most magical and wonderful thing EVER!!! I'M SO EXCITED!! Here's a pic:

Still nothing more than a pip, although she's been rocking and rolling the last half hour or so, so hopefully I'll get to see some action soon! Looks like I won't be sleeping tonight...not until she's out, anyway. Fingers crossed, wish me luck, and good luck on your babies, too, @gemma24 !!

Should be fine, can you can get more water in the incubator to create more surface area without opening it?

It can take 24 hours + after the initial external pip for them to hatch so it's going to be a waiting game I'm afraid :pop

can anyone tell me what this ring is. Day 24 of duck egg incubation. Baby is still moving.

Initially I thought blood ring until I read the baby was still moving. Is this ring on the fat end (air cell) or pointy end of the egg? Were your eggs shipped to you?

Those cheeks, oh my goodness! And she's a cuddler for sure. I have no idea what she'll look like, tho...her parents are a blue ameraucana hen crossed with a wheaten ameraucana roo, so who knows? I love the smoky chocolate color she is now, tho!
